With The Performance Room, we wanted to create a gym where Coaches would thrive. We wanted to provide a space that wasn’t clogged up with bulky machines but a space that was functional and got back to basics. Our trainers are top quality with degree qualifications and specialise in different areas to provide you with a well rounded gym experience.

Rachel Finlay

Founder

The Performance Room is the creation of Rachel Finlay. Rachel always knew she wanted to be involved in sports some how and after working as a personal trainer for several years in commercial gyms she decided it was time to chase her big dream and open her own space. Her love for football has continued into her career as she now specialises in working with football teams in the sport science and strength & conditioning roles for clubs and individual athletes.

She offers a wealth of experience to trainers and members, and remains hands-on, with her own clients and their programmes.

  • Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science - UCOL

  • Post-Graduate Diploma Exercise and Sport Science - AUT

  • Post-Graduate Diploma Sport Management - Massey University

  • 7 years experience in the industry

Angus Preston

Trainer

Meet Angus, aka Coach Preston. Was Angus destined to work in the fitness industry? We think so! With that banger smile and a passion for health and fitness, Coach Preston was born during Angus' university days with plenty of regular tips and 'how to's' for his ever growing social media followers. After graduating with a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science from Massey University, Angus gained valuable experience working with AFLNZ and other gyms in the area.

Angus is one of those great trainers who doesn't come around very often. He pays incredible attention to his clients and really strives to help them achieve their goals, whether that be endurance and conditioning, injury rehabilitation, weight management, online training, or strength training, he will make sure you achieve your goals. A little birdie also said his new bootcamps are pretty awesome!

Grayson Cooke

trainer

Grayson is the latest addition to the Performance Room clan and we couldn’t be happier to have him on board! His training focuses on getting fast and long lasting results for his clients and strives to improve each individuals lifestyle and wellbeing through exercise. Apparently we know how to pick the good ones here at The Performance Room and much like the rest of the team, Grayson is knowledgable and really understanding of the differences of each person. He loves challenging his clients and and encourages his clients to challenge him as well.

Grayson has recently completed his Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science and is eager to start putting into practice what he has learnt over the last 3 years. You won’t find any one size fits all programs with Grayson, and he is your go to trainer for weight management, strength training, increasing your sports performance or just improving your health and wellbeing.
